Spiral Wound Gasket with inner ring

Inner ring gaskets are specified for use on male and female (spigot and recess) flanged connections.

Gasket with inner ring

Style RIR gasket is composed of a sealing element and an inner metal ring. The inner ring in the Style RIR gasket serves a dual purpose. Firstly, it acts as a compression stop, preventing excessive compression of the sealing element. Secondly, it creates a physical barrier between the sealing element and the media stream, providing an additional layer of protection.

Some questions about Spiral Wound Gasket with inner ring you may be concerned about

Why is the inner ring on a spiral wound gasket?

The inner ring on a spiral wound gasket provides structural support, helps prevent blowout, contributes to the gasket's rigidity, protects the filler material, and enhances the overall sealing performance. It is an integral component that improves the reliability and effectiveness of the gasket in demanding industrial applications.

What is the difference between CG and CGI spiral wound gasket?

While Style CG spiral wound gaskets are suitable for mild to moderate service conditions, Style CGI gaskets are fitted with an inner metal ringoffer enhanced performance by incorporating an inner metal ring for added support and stability, making them suitable for more challenging environments.

What is a centering ring in a spiral wound gasket?

A centering ring, often referred to as an inner ring or guide ring, is a component used in conjunction with a spiral wound gasket. The primary purpose of the centering ring is to assist in the proper alignment and centering of the gasket within the flange assembly. This helps ensure that the gasket is positioned correctly before tightening the flange bolts and applying compressive forces.

What does the inner ring of a gasket do?

The inner ring adds to the gasket's overall efficacy in preserving a tight and trustworthy seal between mating flange surfaces throughout a range of industrial applications.

What is the problem with spiral wound gaskets?

Over time, especially in high-temperature applications, gasket materials may experience creep or relaxation, leading to a reduction in the compressive force and potentially causing leaks.

Quality, not quantity

We have made quality our habit. It’s not something that we just strive for – we live by this principle every day.

The Manufacture of Spiral Wound Gaskets

The main products include:seals, gaskets, metal wound gaskets, high-strength graphite composite gaskets, metal ring gaskets, and PTFE gaskets.

Multiple modern office equipment, fully functional, scientific and reasonable mechanized production lines

Modern equipment, assisted by traditional handicrafts, uses superb handcraftsmanship to make up for the problems that cannot be solved in current mechanical production.

Product Standards:

We can manufacture according to various standards such as ANSI B 16.20, MSS SP-44, API 605, DIN, JIS, JPI, BS 1560, JG/T, GB/T, HG, SH, or as specified by the user. We can galvanize or paint the surface according to your needs. If the gasket is intended for use in a heat exchanger and includes ribs, please provide specific drawings.

The inner ring is typically made of the same material as the steel strip to meet the requirements of the medium and operating conditions.

The outer ring is made of the same material as the pipeline and corresponding equipment casing, with carbon steel outer rings being more economical.

For specific orders, it is essential to specify the exact material, applicable standards, nominal diameter (DN), pressure rating (PN), or provide specific dimensions:

  • D1: Inner ring inner diameter

  • D2: Inner ring outer diameter

  • D3: Outer ring inner diameter

  • D4: Outer ring outer diameter

The notation for dimensions is: D1×D2×D3×D4. The default thickness for the gasket is 4.5mm, and the thickness for the ring is 3mm.

Gasket type:

If the gasket is used on a heat exchanger, we generally recommend a stainless steel wire inner ring with φ3.2mm.

Narrow band forms are divided into: adhesive type, covering type
