Some questions about PTFE Gasket
you may be concerned about

What is a PTFE gasket?

A PTFE gasket is a sealing component made from polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), a high-performance synthetic fluoropolymer. PTFE gaskets are known for their exceptional chemical resistance, low friction, and wide temperature tolerance.

What brand is PTFE gasket?

Well known PTFE material brands such as; Garlock®, Thermoseal® (Klinger®), Durlon®, Frenzelit®, Flexitallic® and Teadit®Taige® in various styles and thicknesses.

What are the disadvantages of PTFE gaskets?

PTFE gaskets offer excellent chemical resistance and low friction but have drawbacks, including limited compressibility, cold flow, and potential brittleness at low temperatures.

What is the difference between Teflon and PTFE gaskets?

Teflon and PTFE gaskets are the same, with Teflon being a brand name for PTFE. Both refer to gaskets made from polytetrafluoroethylene, a synthetic fluoropolymer.

Is PTFE gasket food grade?

Polytetrafluoroethylene, or PTFE, better known by it's DuPont tradename of Teflon, has a number of properties that make it an excellent choice for a food grade gasket. At the atomic level it consists of a long chain of carbon atoms, each one of which links to two fluorine atoms.

Quality, not quantity

We have made quality our habit. It’s not something that we just strive for – we live by this principle every day.

Product Standards:

We can manufacture according to various standards such as ANSI B 16.20, MSS SP-44, API 605, DIN, JIS, JPI, BS 1560, JG/T, GB/T, HG, SH, or as specified by the user. We can galvanize or paint the surface according to your needs. If the gasket is intended for use in a heat exchanger and includes ribs, please provide specific drawings.

The inner ring is typically made of the same material as the steel strip to meet the requirements of the medium and operating conditions.

The outer ring is made of the same material as the pipeline and corresponding equipment casing, with carbon steel outer rings being more economical.

For specific orders, it is essential to specify the exact material, applicable standards, nominal diameter (DN), pressure rating (PN), or provide specific dimensions:

  • D1: Inner ring inner diameter

  • D2: Inner ring outer diameter

  • D3: Outer ring inner diameter

  • D4: Outer ring outer diameter

The notation for dimensions is: D1×D2×D3×D4. The default thickness for the gasket is 4.5mm, and the thickness for the ring is 3mm.

Gasket type:

If the gasket is used on a heat exchanger, we generally recommend a stainless steel wire inner ring with φ3.2mm.

Narrow band forms are divided into: adhesive type, covering type
