PTFE
Spiral Wound Gaskets

PTFE a filler material in a spiral wound gasket, PTFE enhances the gasket's performance in various applications

The Manufacture of PTFE Spiral Wound Gaskets

Similar to other spiral wound gaskets PTFE Spiral Wound Gaskets is constructed with alternating layers of metal (commonly stainless steel) and filler material. The metal provides structural strength, while the filler material contributes to sealing properties.

Some questions about PTFE Spiral Wound Gaskets
you may be concerned about

What is the difference between PTFE and graphite spiral wound gasket?

PTFE spiral wound gaskets offer superb chemical resistance and low friction, while graphite gaskets excel in high-temperature sealing with excellent thermal conductivity.

What is the difference between CNAF and PTFE?

CNAF (Compressed Non-Asbestos Fiber) is a fibrous gasket material, while PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) is a high-performance polymer. CNAF may contain rubber, and PTFE is known for chemical resistance and low friction.

Why use PTFE gaskets?

Because PTFE gaskets are resistant to corrosive fluids and significant temperature changes, they are employed in equipment handling chemicals and petrochemicals. At different pressures and temperatures, PTFE exhibits resistance to the majority of substances, with the exception of specific alkali metals and fluorine compounds.

.

What is the filler material for spiral wound gasket?

The filler material for a spiral wound gasket can vary, but common choices include materials like flexible graphite, PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene), or other suitable materials. The filler provides resilience and helps achieve a reliable seal between flange surfaces.

Quality, not quantity

We have made quality our habit. It’s not something that we just strive for – we live by this principle every day.

The Manufacture of Spiral Wound Gaskets

The main products include:seals, gaskets, metal wound gaskets, high-strength graphite composite gaskets, metal ring gaskets, and PTFE gaskets.

Multiple modern office equipment, fully functional, scientific and reasonable mechanized production lines

Modern equipment, assisted by traditional handicrafts, uses superb handcraftsmanship to make up for the problems that cannot be solved in current mechanical production.

Product Standards:

We can manufacture according to various standards such as ANSI B 16.20, MSS SP-44, API 605, DIN, JIS, JPI, BS 1560, JG/T, GB/T, HG, SH, or as specified by the user. We can galvanize or paint the surface according to your needs. If the gasket is intended for use in a heat exchanger and includes ribs, please provide specific drawings.

The inner ring is typically made of the same material as the steel strip to meet the requirements of the medium and operating conditions.

The outer ring is made of the same material as the pipeline and corresponding equipment casing, with carbon steel outer rings being more economical.

For specific orders, it is essential to specify the exact material, applicable standards, nominal diameter (DN), pressure rating (PN), or provide specific dimensions:

  • D1: Inner ring inner diameter

  • D2: Inner ring outer diameter

  • D3: Outer ring inner diameter

  • D4: Outer ring outer diameter

The notation for dimensions is: D1×D2×D3×D4. The default thickness for the gasket is 4.5mm, and the thickness for the ring is 3mm.

Gasket type:

If the gasket is used on a heat exchanger, we generally recommend a stainless steel wire inner ring with φ3.2mm.

Narrow band forms are divided into: adhesive type, covering type
